good morning neighbors!
i am still trying to recover from a great weekend. i think i need to do a "cleansing" too because i went a little overboard celebrating t's bday, makes me feel better that i wasn't the only one. LOL!
i overslept today...could not sleep last night, i was tossing and turning and several times i woke up sweating like a pig. grrr! then i couldn't remember where i put some concert tickets i had recently purchased, so finally i got up and thankfully found the tickets.
hanging out at my bro's apartments on friday night was pretty cool. at times i felt a little out of place, i guess hanging out with several 21 year olds is not my thing anymore. *sigh* don't get me wrong there were peeps my age but when the real young ones got there we fled.
the laker game was pretty exciting and after the game pretty much everyone played rock band. sam and john did such a great john singing, total pros!

no crows this year, i'm sure he was happy about that...
tonight we are starting the celebration at my bro's apartment. this is actually the first time he has us over and he's been there a year already...times flies. he's such a typical bachelor. ;o) i'm excited to get together with his friends and co-workers to watch the lakers game plus play some good ol' rock band. i don't know if i will work up the courage to sign but maybe after a couple vodka tonics with extra limes i will be good to go!
i got hubby a couple outfits and i had a fruit/nut basket mailed to his office this morning. i couldn't pass up embarrassing him since i know how much he hates to let peeps know it's his birthday...lol!
tomorrow we are having friends and family over for a bbq. hope we will all survive the hot weather...ugh!

it was my little brothers raymond's birthday on wednesday. he turned 29.
we had dinner at a japanese restaurant we hadn't been to in a very long time (now i know why) LOL. he got a free bottle of saki. i said, "saki to me" but he wouldn't open it! boo.
we continued the celebration at my house for cake and gifts. roxy even joined in on the fun!
i love birthdays and i'm glad everyone had a good time!
omg talk about nostalgia...i don't even know where to begin?! paulie (my boy version of a girl bff, no he's not gay) and i had a great time at the 80's flashback concert at house of blues-hollywood. we got there just in time to see gene loves jezebel. i could not remember them that much except for "desire". the lead singer wore a huge headpiece and he sounded awful. he might consider giving up smoking! he could not hit any of the high notes and he kept making fun of himself which was cool, i guess. he kept trying to do tricks with the microphone stand that he ended up breaking it! what a crack up. one of the roadies came out and fixed it....their show was pretty lame but the good thing is that it was only a 40 minute show. of course the last song they played was "desire". i bet this was their only hit.
after i got some fresh air we went outside while waiting for the next band to set up. once we were back we made our way to the stage even though we felt like sardines but it was worth it. when in rome was the next band and i think they might have been one of my faves the whole night. they got the crowd into it and put on a great show.
now it was about midnight. we went back outside and on our way back made our way towards the front of the stage and that might not have been a great idea because dramarama was next. they seemed to have played about an hour. everyone else played 30-45 minutes. they had a new album to promote and they were lots of fun to watch. they ended their set with this song...and guess what happened next?
by now it must have been 1am and we were both so tired from standing since 9pm and pretty much dancing the whole time. (we paid for it dearly the next day) umm, are we out of shape or what? up next ...
but seriously we had such a great time plus we were celebrating paulie's bday early. and even though we were tired and our feet hurt from so much dancing we didn't care. it was awesome reminiscing about the past.
sunday i watched pretty in pink. perfect ending to an 80's weekend.
as i mentioned before i went with my girlfriend maricela to club libby lu on sunday to celebrate clarissa's 9th birthday with her little pals. the girls had such a good time and i had a blast watching them and took a zillion pics and a couple videos.
who ever came up with this idea is a genius! i think if i had a little girl i would take her and her palsies too!
the girls got to choose either a pink or black blouse and black tights. then they chose 5 gifts to put in their club sack, they made lip gloss, got their make up done, got their hair done, nails done, and at the end they do a dance in front of the store. too cute!

so as i mentioned before it was roxy's birthday yesterday. once i got home we sang to him, gave him a big hug and then came that part that he hates, well besides the hugs. i made him wear a birthday hat and pose for pics and here they are...
i am such a bad mommy. i totally forgot it was roxy's 4th birthday until i got in to work today and checked my calendar plus i got an email fro dogster.com wishing him a happy birthday.
i am so sorry roxy but i will make it up to you today, i promise. in the meantime here is a pic from 2006.
we had an awesome weekend and i am so pooped today! and not only that but i got a fever blister on friday morning and it bugs the heck out of me! it seems to be going away so i'm happy about that!
hubby and i went to dinner on friday night, italian..mmm. we had a nice dinner and lots of yack, yack, yack...

i am officially OLD!
i had one of the busiest weekends and today i am T-I-R-E-D! i need to get some more rest today and i am planning to do just that once i get home. mom and i had dinner and shopped at le target on friday night. i returned some stuff and picked up some new things that i probably didn't need but you can never have enough champagne glasses right? LOL!
on saturday morning i went with hubby and roxy for a hike @ griffith park. no i didn't hike all the way to the top otherwise the paramedics would have gotten a call right away! instead we walked around the perimeter of one side of the park for about an hour and even though it was somewhat easy i was still huffing and puffing practically the whole way. i woke up sore the next day so this assured me i had a good work out (and god knows i need it!)
after i got a little bit of a break i got ready because my girlfriend was picking me up to watch her daughter play basketball and then since it was her birthday i treated her for lunch @ chili's. we had a great time watching her daughter and niece play basketball. i have a blast watching the kids play...
sunday morning i made 2 salads for a family get together at my mom's house. we were all going to watch my cousin's wedding video from mexico. this is the cousin i had a bridal shower for back in july of last year. anyway, we had some good grub, some great laughs, and oh yeah tequila too! hence too many weekend activities.
