- i have almost all my shoes in the boxes they came in. every time i wear a pair i make sure they go back t to their resting place and i make sure to wipe them down with a Lysol wipey.
- i have all my handbags in cloth bags to keep them clean and in order.
- i make sure to go through my closets every so often and pull clothing i am no longer wearing or fit.
- when i purchase a new article of clothing i look for an old item i no longer need and donate it.
Wow, what a crazy and busy weekend we had. I am done cleaning out my closet, finally...but I still have one more to conquer..ugh! I went through 3 boxes of old stuff as I mentioned before and I could not believe the things I had saved, it felt like a time warp. I found old letters from boyfriends, lame diaries that don't make any sense. I sat and read through some of them plus letters and they were so lame and a total waste of time. I had a couple friends from school that ended up in jail and I had letters from them too, still! I don't eve know where they are now and don't really care to keep in touch with them now either. I found check stubs from my very first job at a pizza place, directions to my first real job (where I met T, btw), phone messages from when I lived with my ex-best friend....I guess I had not looked at this stuff since I got married back in April 1994. I was only 20 when I got married so I must have packed up all my crap and never looked at it again. I did keep some of it and the rest I threw out... I've got to post a pic of me with my disco hair. OMG, so hilarious! Funn how life changes and how much we change for the better and the worst. I'm so glad I am where I am now because back then I know I was only asking for trouble. I've made the right decisions and I'm very happy now. Thank GAWD!
We splurged on 2 nice dinners this weekend and went to see Children of Men. Can someone please explain this movie to me? I have my thoughts and I've read through the reviews but it was a crazy movie. A must see. I've never seen anything like it...
On a much sadder note...I got a call from my bro on Sunday morning, about 3:00am that my mom's brother passed away from a heart attack. Gosh, I thought what else could go wrong? Mom has had it bad for a while now and I thought after my grandmother passing away last April that mom would begin to feel better,or at least her heart would heal just a bit. Evidently not. I said goodbye to her on their way to the airport to fly to Mexico and I felt so bad for my poor mother. I could never imagine what it would feel to lose a member of my family. I don't even want to imagine. She has already lost her mother, father and two brothers-this will be her third. She has 4 sisters left and 1 brother. She will be back next week and I can't even imagine what I could tell her to make her feel better. Perhaps just being with her will help...
Life must go on...
Mom and I are almost done with ordering her shutters. We made it to Lowe's this morning, set up the measuring installation and I even got some other chores out of the way that I forgot about. I have been putting off one of my major tasks of organizing my closet. I had to replace my shoe racks because they were old and yukky. Today I went through some of my old shoes and will be donating them to our church tomorrow. I also got another plastic tub to store my sweaters. Now I need to get another storage tub and put away all my old sneaker that I don't wear anymore, hi tops, Jordans, etc. T and Mom say I should really make better use of our closets. I guess they are right, I've just been lazy and careless about it. What's new? You know, as much as I hate clutter I can't believe I have not concentrated on cleaning the out!
Ugh!!!
Well at least one of my goals is almost complete.
