no, not me but my hubby. check him out dancing with steff's mom. he's too cool for school, LOL! and yes that is old school disco in the background...you member?? spinners!
What's the best gift you received this year?
my hubby's support, kindness, love, and understanding. this year has been a tough one for my family and i'm glad that hubby was there for me to help me see the brighter side of life.
We went out for a pre-thanksgiving celebration with our friends last night. We decided to have dinner and margaritas at Conquistador in Siliverlake. E was surprised that I hadn't taken any pics yet but frankly I was enjoying myself too much plus the margaritas were super STRONG to say the least.
Millie's friends Stephanie and her hubby Johnny met us and they are a real pleasure. They're trying to get a party together for New Years so that might be an option for us because we've been trying to figure out what to do. We were all talking about going to a nice dinner and then dancing but our guys don't sound too excited about that. A house party would be fine for me, we'll see...
I had so much fun last night and laughed so hard that I almost peed my pants, seriously. I really needed it because this week was a little rough but that's over with and now time to continue the Thanksgiving celebration.
Oh, almost forgot. Several weeks ago I tortured Roxy again with another costume. The pics didn't come out but here's one...
Happy Thanksgiving my friends!
My work week seem to go by faster when I have something FUN planned, don't yours? And by planned it does not necessarily mean I have something to do, might just be hanging out or catching up with my DVR. Well, this weekend we did have something planned and it turned out awesome.
Friday night we went to Alpine Village for Oktoberfest with our friends. We had so much fun watching people on the dance floor while we had dinner. It was a total pick up spot for seniors and mail order brides looking for a rich hubby and some very eccentric people. We ran into my cousin Liz and her friends and we hung out for a while. By then it was getting really packed, lots of drunks stumbling plus it was raining on us so we left. The chicken dance was pretty funny!
We were thinking of going to Disney on Saturday evening but we didn't have the strength to fight with the crowds. Instead we had dinner at a place I've been wanting to try for a while now in Los Feliz. It's called Tam O'Shanter Inn and I highly recommend it. Hubby and I had a couple drinks since there was a 40 minute wait but we didn't mind because we were not in a hurry. I had the pumpkin soup which was delicious and their specialty "toad in a whole" which is yorkshire pudding with filet mignon in a mushroom burgundy sauce. Hubby had the macadamia crusted halibut which was also delicious and of course we had to pre-order the chocolate souffle....why do desserts have to be so bad for your waist line?!!?
Dinner was great but now we had to walk it off before bedtime. We were so close to Hollywood that we decided to be tourist. We walked around Hollywood and Highland and what a bad idea that was because it's so scary. We were constantly watching our backs to make sure no one was going to mug us. The only good thing was checking out Mann's Chinese and the stars...
Hmm, what to do next weekend?
it's been a great month so far, why? well, i am going to be celebrating my 34th birthday tomorrow. wow, how time flies! we're going to palm spring on thursday and i am sooo looking forward to it. =)
i had to renew my license yesterday morning. i took an eye test and i was so nervous hoping i would not fail. i passed, yay! i think i was the only one there that actually smiled when taking the new pic, what a ham! i was so nervous on the way home that i almost got hit then i almost hit a guy on a bike...wtf?!
i spent a good part of saturday morning decorating for halloween. i didn't take lots of pics but here are some...
yesterday was millie's birthday. we continued the birthday celebration at the boiling crab in alhambra. although it's very messy to eat the food is good. later we enjoyed some dessert at a local casino and called it a night. i got her benefit lipgloss set and a date book. i'm glad she liked it..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!
last nite we went to an angels game (free tickets) so we invited our friends millie and efren. i'm not an angels fan, i prefer the dodgers. chavez ravine is such a great stadium, yeah i know there are lots of hommies that sometimes mess it up for everyone but that can be taken care of in a minute with the help of security.
the game was pretty long, lots of hits and of course under my breath i was rooting for the devil rays (lol).
there was some drama too. we sat around a bunch of season tickets holders, mainly middle aged and and old farts. several hommies sat next to us (i think we were the only mexicans) and after a while the guy infront of us started telling one of the guys to stop cursing. the hommie got all rude and wanted to start crap with this old man. i'm not uptight but if i was seating next to someone like that i would have been annoyed too, especially if there are kids around. no one wants to be around that...we're not at your hommies bbq, you know? anyway, the hommie messed with the wrong peeps b/c they obviously had pull and had the guys thrown out. i would not be surprised if they are no longer allowed in the stadium...after a while i wished i was thrown out...bleh!
wow, let me just catch my breath because this past weekend was fun but very busy and hectic. my friend millie had a grand opening for her nail salon on saturday so we were with her and her boyfriend friday night and saturday. she had a great turn out and got some great gifts and tips. the food was awesome too!
later that afternoon after t and i got our second wind and met up with them again, this time her brother david joined us. we went to see kc and the sunshine band at the alhambra jubilee. we met up for drinks first then around 8pm we saved our spot right in front of the stage. omg, it was so darn HOT that night too...UGH!!!
i can certainly say that kc has seen his better days and he probably should retire NOW if not sooner.
when i walked out i recognized two guys that were talking outside. now, normally when i see people i have not talked to from my past, high school, etc i usually pretend they are not there walk past them...don't ask me why, i know how rude! but this time since i was a bit tipsy and felt brave i made eye contact automatically and they recognized me as well. i wished i would have taken pics of mike and tom. i was shocked and happy to have run into them and had a chance to catch up a bit. i guess i know where to find them now...the local watering hole. oh yeah, more water please!
Bella had another shot scheduled with the vet on Friday evening. It went well but the wait seemed liked it took forever only because Bella got a little out of hand. She thinks she's a German Sheppard and barked at the dogs going in and out. I'm not really used to that because Roxy has always been quiet and pretty behaved. But since this little Miss Diva thinks she's the big dog and acts like she's in charge she barked, barked, barked even when she yawned! She is too much...here she is sleeping after wards, clearly tired.
On Saturday night we went out with our good friends E
and Millie to the Tina Marie concert in Alhambra. We got some good grub and mojitos @ Cuban Bistro then hung out at the concert. We could not sit on the bleachers section so we ended up in front of one of the big screens and sat on the ground. Once Miss T came out she was sporting a towel around her neck and said she was sick. She sung for about an hour and she sounded alright. Millie says a lot of these old timer singers play the part like they're sick. After the concert we made it to the Venice room in Montebello and joined in the karaoke, sord of.
We are going camping next week so now I need to get ready for that....
