i've been pretty busy lately and have not been keeping up with my blog as most of you can tell.  this month has just flown by.  i've been helping my younger brother move and set up his new apartment.  i think we spent the last 3 saturday's in a row moving and organizing his place.  this weekend we picked up his new furniture and set it up.  it's starting to look really nice and i'm very happy for him. (cant wait for the housewarming party...w00t!)  and i'm even happier that we're getting close again.  it's sad how easy you can lose touch with someone.  i hope it doesn't happen again...

i decorated for halloween pretty late this year, for me anyway.  i've been in and out of this weird funk but with my sister's help we got it done a couple weeks ago.  we are having some friends and family over for halloween for drinks, snacks, and rock band.  some of us are dressing up and i can't wait for you guys to see my costume. i am going to look retarded but i don't care...lol.  you will just have to wait and see...

for the last couple of months since my sister moved back from san francisco we've been talking a lot and have reconnected.  it's almost like we picked up where we've never been before.  does that make sense?  we were never close but now that we've been apart from each other for such a long time and have matured we've become inseperable.  she is 28 and i'm 35, *ahem*.  i told her we're like gum stuck to each other now.  i'm really happy that we're getting along and we're getting to really know each other. 

i've realized how easy it is to lose touch with someone you really love wether it be friends or family.  i've learned that it takes a lot from each other to keep connected.  it's sad that although we're family we've all been so distant from each other...sad but true.  i'm not regretting the past but rather looking forward to more special memories.  things happen for a reason, this i know.

well we had a very nice halloween.  i have not had a chance to upload my pics but i plan to this evening.  a couple friends didn't show up which was a bummer but all in all we had a great time.  my costume turned out nice too (i've posted a pic already). 

i was hoping to chill out this evening since the house is sparking clean and that's my favorite time to chill but hubby wants to go out to dinner.  i had the biggest lunch this afternoon that i can bearly (sp?) type so i don't think i will be eating much...

i need to get back to exercising because i am starting to feel "ugh" again and some of my pants are starting to fit too snug...yikers!  every morning i wake up and i say to myself "i need to work out, i'm getting fatter" but when i get home i do the opposite.  i don't work out at all.  i need some motivation but nothing really is helping me out.  i'm afraid to get back on the scale but i think that might be a good reality check.

This is Halloween...

i have so much to do tonight.  i don't know why i make things harder than they really are?!  i do have lots to do today to be ready for halloween.  as usual i have friends and family stop by some come with their kids for treats and the others come for adult treats, lol. 

my menu is as follows:

• turkey chili beans (emeril's recipe)
• cheese and jalapeno corn bread
  
• hummus and veggies
• dip and chips
• pigs in a blanket
• dessert
• sangria for the adults

tonight i am going to make most of the major items then finish decorating the dinning room table....wish me luck!

I saw this pic on the LA Times last week...what an incredible shot.  I hope the family is OK.

yesterday hubby and i went to the annual dia de los muertos event @ hollywood forever cemetery.  before we got there we had lunch at aunti'e em's in eagle rock.  we even splurged and each had a mini cupcake.  sooo good.

the event was packed as usual.  we always get there early enough to find parking and stand near the gate before it opens.  we got to see some really awesome altars (seems like less this year), some very eccentric people, some great costumes, good food, drinks, music, and  even rain!  it sprinkled on us a little bit but nothing major.  

and for a late night snack we stopped at pink's hot dog stand.  as usual there was a line and waited about 20 minutes or so before ordering...ugh. 

all in all we had a great day.  millie wanted us to get together for a drink but we were so tired and all we wanted was to get to bed and relax.  plus roxy was home alone and i'm sure he missed us...lol.

it's been a great month so far, why?  well, i am going to be celebrating my 34th birthday tomorrow.  wow, how time flies!  we're going to palm spring on thursday and i am sooo looking forward to it.  =)

i had to renew my license yesterday morning.  i took an eye test and i was so nervous hoping i would not fail.  i passed, yay!  i think i was the only one there that actually smiled when taking the new pic, what a ham!  i was so nervous on the way home that i almost got hit then i almost hit a guy on a bike...wtf?!

on friday we went out to dinner with millie and her boyfriend to lawry's in beverly hills.  it's a really nice and special occasion prime rib restaurant.  we all got dressed up and had a great time.  i'm not a big  steak or meat person so i had the lobster tails, yes i splurged.  everyone else had prime rib.  after dinner we went to have a drink at the good luck bar in west hollywood.  on the way there we droved by la ink.  millie and i watch the show so we were a little excited to check it out.  i got a really cute card from millie plus a pair of silver earrings and a mac lip gloss.  i scored huh?
i spent a good part of saturday morning decorating for halloween.  i didn't take lots of pics but here are some...
yesterday was millie's birthday.  we continued the birthday celebration at the boiling crab in alhambra.  although it's very messy to eat the food is good.  later we enjoyed some dessert at a local casino and called it a night.  i got her benefit lipgloss set and a date book.  i'm glad she liked it..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

jeez, today is such a dreary day, so gray and dark.  i think if i was home it would be perfect because i could start on my halloween decorating one day early.  last night we cleaned the house from top to bottom.  as you all know i'm a bit of a clean freak and like to keep my house tidy and in order, otherwise i got NUTS!  anyway, i cleaned and cleared up my bay window so it will be ready for my decorating tomorrow.  oooh, i cannot wait!!!

tonight we're going out for an "old school steak house" dinner with our friends to celebrate our birthdays early.  her bday is on monday and mine is on wednesday.  it's funny how well we get along plus now we can celebrate our bdays together too!  suhweet!!!  we're all getting dressed up too...can't wait!!!

i wonder what else hubby has up his sleeve for me?
