Dropping Roxy off...

our conversation before going to bed last night.

me:  zomg!!!  we are out of coffee!!!!

hubby: i know, need to go to costco.

me: so can you stop and get me a cup from starbucks before you go to work?

hubby: BWAAAAAAHHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!  get it yourself on YOUR way to work.  why don't you leave early?

me:  so you what you are telling me is that you would not do that for me?

hubby:  rolls eyes and chuckles

me:  ok........whateves.

this morning before he left for work he kisses me goodbye, lays roxy right next to me...

me:  bye hon, hi roxy!

roxy:  good morn ma, please cover me.

hubby: bye hon

me: hey, you smell like coffee!  did you get me one?

hubby: no, roxy did.

end scene.

we had an excellent night at the steely dan concert yesterday.  we picked up paulie and checked out the old school lamps i helped him pick out (lol) then headed downtown.  it was still early so we hung out at hotel figueroa for round #1.  the vibe there was pretty cool, lots of tourist and locals that just got off from work to get their drink on. the pool/bar area was excellent, too bad we couldn't stay longer because i was having too much fun relaxing.

unfortunately i could not smuggle in my camera because of the metal detectors or so i thought.  almost everyone and their mother were taking pics and not just with their phones either!  perhaps next time i will try...i'm a chicken, i know!

as soon as we got settled we thought "oh my, are they giving out geritol for free, sup with all the old farts?"  LOL!  this crowd seemed to be more "stuffy" then the last time we saw steely dan in concert 2 years ago at verizon in irvine.  oh well, we made the best of it. 

so leave it up to paulie to spill almost everyone's drink while trying to make  his way to his seat.  he felt so bad but i said, "don't worry about it, they should have picked up their drinks and their feet instead of being all rude and pist off because we were all trying to get to our seats".  plus the show hadn't even started yet.  i tell ya, stuffy old coggers in the house! 

so halfway through the show i couldn't hold it any longer and had to go to the ladies room.  i waited for the last song but no luck.  so i was nice enough to wait till the next song and made the guys get up with me since they had to go too.  of course we got attitude on the way out of our seats and on the way back.  i just pushed and kicked and said "OH WELL".  come on people, get over it.

of course we had to have a late night snack and stopped at the pantry. mmm, i can taste the pancakes right now.  delish!  i am paying for it today because i didn't get to bed until 1am.  ah well, it was worth it.

Me and Hubby...

so i tried sleeping in late this morning since i have today off but couldn't.  hubby decided he could not stay in bed any longer so he took roxy for a walk and watered the lawn while i ignored all the noises and got some more zzz's.  i wish i could have slept longer..up at 8ish...ugh.

i had lunch at mom's house while i waited to pick hubby up at the doc's office.  mom and i watched her fave spanish gossip show, we had a blast making jokes and poking fun at other peeps expense.  it was really nice hanging out with her in her home.  i don't go very often (i have my reasons that i would rather not talk about right now).  i could see how happy she was that i surprised her and stayed a while.  i have to admit, it felt good.

hubby was ready to have a late lunch when i picked him up.  we went to mimi's in los feliz and got stuck in traffic, what's new?  we hung out at home for the rest of the evening.  after some zzz's and me going stir crazy i decided to

read, blog, watch tv, called my bff but he's MIA.  now what?  my bros are watching dark knight again!  tomorrow will be the 3rd time they see it. we're going with them to westwood and yes tickets have already been purchased.

gosh i figured i would be happy to be home relaxing but since i'm so used to hanging out with friends on friday nights i think i am having withdrawals...bwahahahaha.

boy was this weekend hot or what?  well here is los angeles it was probably about 90 degrees all weekend and i almost thought it was summer time!  i was just getting used to the 70 degree weather and let me tell ya, i was in heaven!

on saturday afternoon we went to the pet expo and we should have skipped it because it was super crowed and way too hot to be walking around...plus fighting the crowds was a pain!  i told hubby that the pets smelled better than a lot of the peeps walking around, bumping into you and not saying "excuse me".

we got to see some adorable doggies that i wanted to take home that were up for adoption.  i probably shouldn't have checked that building out because i got all teary eyed looking at all those sad faces. 

we got to see saw some awesome anacondas, birds and other animals...

we didn't spend too much time there like i said it was too hot and too crowded.  later that evening we had dinner with my family to congratulate my brother raymond for passing a huge IT test for work on saturday.  congrats bro!!!


poor hubby got sick later that evening, i mean really sick...vomiting, fevers and all.  he is feeling better today, not sure if it was something he ate or the new antibiotics he is taking for his sinus infection.

sunday i met ana (mamirosa), her daughter sofia, her bff andrea, her bloggie buddies; vero (la vero), her sons and ana (ana banana) @ plaza mexico.

we had so much fun chit chatting and getting to know each other better.  it really is a small world! 

we had lunch, (thanks again to ana banana and vero for treating!  you guys are too kind).  *hugs*

dessert, well i shouldn't really call it that.  mamirosa, ana, and i got a spicy and sour shaved iced called "el diablito" that i couldn't finish.  too spicy but it certainly was good!  now i know why it's called that...little devil!
sofia is such a pretty girl. oh my goodness i cannot get over how adorable she is!

omg i am going to be sooo busy this weekend and i am already tired just thinking about it....

first of all tonight i am picking up my nine year old god-daughter clarissa and we're getting our nails did (LOL).  not sure where we are going for dinner then she's running some errands with me.  i can't wait to hang out with her.  the last time i saw her was her birthday a couple months ago. 

tomorrow hubby and i are checking out the pet expo in cost mesa.  i can't wait!!!  i love animals and this will be our first time there.  i hope to find some cute stuff for roxy.

sunday i am meeting up with mamirosa.  this will my first "vox meet up".  as i mentioned in a previous post we met here on vox back in '06 and we've become pretty close friends.  i am very excited and a little nervous at the same time.

so last weekend was pretty busy even though we didn't have plans.  we did have to file our taxes on friday night and after working myself up into a frenzy, literally making myself sick from nervousness, it was over just like that.  i guess i  didn't like the thought of having to pay.  it took about 1/2 an hour and guess what?  all the worrying was for nothing because we are getting some money back that we will be able to use for our vacation this year and to save to renovate our restroom.  lucky us!

seems like we ran errands all weekend after all.  t had his brakes done, tried to get new tires but they were out, we shopped at costco, target, lowe's, and hubby needed a new pair of work shoes too.  by sunday night i was tired and sore from running around, plus i've been exercising and gardening a lot.  i actually had to use my heating pad to soothe my aching legs.  i know, what an old fart!

dinner on saturday night with hubby was fun.  we couldn't figure out where to go so we decided on el conquistador in silver lake.  mexican food + margaritas = F-U-N!!!

we walked around a little bit then headed home because hubby is still sick.  as a matter of fact he just found out today that he's got a sinus infection (what i had) and is back on antibiotics.  poor hubby!

hubby and i had a really nice and busy weekend.  ever since i got sick with a cold and had bad allergies i've had a terrible headache.  no matter how many aleeve's i take, it doesn't seem to go away.  it's sord of comes and goes.  today is getting worse but i'm trying to ignore it. 

grrr!!!

we went to bass pro shop on saturday, hubby has been wanting to go for the longest time.  the place is huge and it's a outdoors man/woman's paradise!  he bought several fishing lures and a rod.  he was in hog heaven!  we shopped a little at the next door outdoor mall and afterwards had lunch.  we stopped at lowes, then the grocery store and then headed home to relax.  i was pooped!

i was hoping i would feel better on sunday but i didn't.  i got so tired of laying in bed that i made myself get up and do some gardening while hubby took our car to get an oil change.  once he got home he decided to join in and help me out.  we decided to pull some old plants and are planning on replanting some better looking ones tonight.

on saturday we got news that my cousin who just got married in december is 1 month pregnant...WOW, how soon!  congrats to her and her hubby!

hubby and i had dinner last night at jax bar and grill in glendale.  the last time we were there was about 10 years ago or more!  we used to live closer to glendale when we were first married so we'd frequent pretty often.  it was fun to be back and reminisce.  hubby didn't remember that much of it but i remember it like it was yesterday.  i cannot believe we've been married over 13 years...time flies!!!

after dinner we wanted to satisfy my sweet tooth at portos next door but unfortunately it was closed!  we decided to head towards toluca lake to bob's big boy to check out the classic cars.  the place was packed and the cars are awesome!  we love classic cars and most of all i love that old car smell. it brings back memories of high school and the boyfriend's i had.

dessert in los feliz SUCKED but at least we got time to  catch up and LOL...
