- recently my friend paulie took me to the coldplay concert in anaheim. we had a great time and the show was beyond amazing. i would see them again in a heartbeat. i loved the laser lights and it was all very visual and made the music come to life.
- we had thanksgivng at my parents home this year. i didn't feel up to hosting it so my auntie made a mexican turkey dish which was delish. we also had turkey breast and side dishes but i just ate the birria. my youngest brother and i bought some pies and we didn't have any trouble finishing it! i had the worst allergies soi ended up knocking out after rocking out to 3 songs on rock band. at one time i could hear my family singing living on a prayer by bon jovi. i woke up and laughed and then cringed because i cannot stand that band! LOLz. good times!
- we're just starting to decorate for the holidays and i have not started by xmas shopping yet. i bought one gift but i realized i've got a lot to get after all. sigh. i usually love the holidays but this year i don't. i guess i must be over it and have become my mother. noooooo!!!!!!!!! LOLz.
- sis and i went to our bro's apartment the other night and rocked out. we had a great time and have realized that i suck at guitar and i'm better off singing with my lame voice. =(
- tonight we're going to see an irish punk band...i can't wait! this weekend you will see me Xmas shopping. =S
i've been pretty busy lately and have not been keeping up with my blog as most of you can tell. this month has just flown by. i've been helping my younger brother move and set up his new apartment. i think we spent the last 3 saturday's in a row moving and organizing his place. this weekend we picked up his new furniture and set it up. it's starting to look really nice and i'm very happy for him. (cant wait for the housewarming party...w00t!) and i'm even happier that we're getting close again. it's sad how easy you can lose touch with someone. i hope it doesn't happen again...
i decorated for halloween pretty late this year, for me anyway. i've been in and out of this weird funk but with my sister's help we got it done a couple weeks ago. we are having some friends and family over for halloween for drinks, snacks, and rock band. some of us are dressing up and i can't wait for you guys to see my costume. i am going to look retarded but i don't care...lol. you will just have to wait and see...
for the last couple of months since my sister moved back from san francisco we've been talking a lot and have reconnected. it's almost like we picked up where we've never been before. does that make sense? we were never close but now that we've been apart from each other for such a long time and have matured we've become inseperable. she is 28 and i'm 35, *ahem*. i told her we're like gum stuck to each other now. i'm really happy that we're getting along and we're getting to really know each other.
i've realized how easy it is to lose touch with someone you really love wether it be friends or family. i've learned that it takes a lot from each other to keep connected. it's sad that although we're family we've all been so distant from each other...sad but true. i'm not regretting the past but rather looking forward to more special memories. things happen for a reason, this i know.
i spent most of sunday with my youngest brother raymond. i just found myself reminiscing about that days events...i drove to his house in the south bay because we had planned to check out the 6 man volleyball competition in manhattan beach. how could i have passed up an event like that? beach+ sunny day+hot bods(meow)+good food and a little bro and sis bonding, come on you can't go wrong!
we spent a couple hours at the beach gawking at all the players and getting into the games, we hung out at
the small fish aquarium on the pier, and then we had a nice treat (besides lunch). someone standing next to us told us sasha from the lakers was standing around supporting the lakers dressed team. we were so close to him we could almost smell him! (not really). we're both lakers fan so we were stoked! (can you spot him?)we had lunch at this cute little italian restaurant
(fuhgetaboutit) called mama d's. it was delish and they made us feel right at home (they asked us for our first names). i had the lemon piccata chicken with a small side of pasta and veggies and raymond had the chicken parm, small side of pasta and veggies and we split a small ceaser (my fave). the bread and lemon with garlic and parsley was very good. i cannot wait to return....soon. at the end of the meal they gave us 2 homemade chocolate chip cookies, my fave!!!it was really nice bonding with younger bro and the only thing i regret is not making time for it more often. come on bro, we need to start exchanging tips on photography, iphone stuff, and batman. get on it!
love ya!
- the other night i had a dream that rats had a hold of me and would not let me go. one rat kept biting me or maybe it was a mouse that kept biting me and the whole time i tried to pull it away. i had no strength to push them away and i was worried that i was going to get a disease from them. i tried to wake up and yell for help but nothing came out
- the other night i had a dream that my 29 year old brother was walking somewhere and he was really young, 7 or 8 years old. he looked very happy as happy as a kid can be. upon waking up i felt very sad. i'm not sure why it made me sad, it just did. perhaps i miss my siblings when we were all young?
- in another dream i was going from home to home telling my neighbors to be on the look out for aliens. they were spotted around our neighborhood. i don't remember seeing them. i remember being scared. weird, i know.
good morning neighbors!
i am still trying to recover from a great weekend. i think i need to do a "cleansing" too because i went a little overboard celebrating t's bday, makes me feel better that i wasn't the only one. LOL!
i overslept today...could not sleep last night, i was tossing and turning and several times i woke up sweating like a pig. grrr! then i couldn't remember where i put some concert tickets i had recently purchased, so finally i got up and thankfully found the tickets.
hanging out at my bro's apartments on friday night was pretty cool. at times i felt a little out of place, i guess hanging out with several 21 year olds is not my thing anymore. *sigh* don't get me wrong there were peeps my age but when the real young ones got there we fled.
the laker game was pretty exciting and after the game pretty much everyone played rock band. sam and john did such a great john singing, total pros!
some of the guys also played darts...some of them got a little too into it. competitive you think?
we had some good laughs and played rock band again...we are such nerds but we had some good belly laughs.
sunday we spent pretty much all day lounging and catching up with my dvr. my bff paulie called later on and wanted to have an early dinner at stinking rose in bevery hills so we did just that. dinner was delicious but today i stink like GARLIC!
happy birthday hubby!!! do you remember this picture from last year? LOL!
no crows this year, i'm sure he was happy about that...
tonight we are starting the celebration at my bro's apartment. this is actually the first time he has us over and he's been there a year already...times flies. he's such a typical bachelor. ;o) i'm excited to get together with his friends and co-workers to watch the lakers game plus play some good ol' rock band. i don't know if i will work up the courage to sign but maybe after a couple vodka tonics with extra limes i will be good to go!
i got hubby a couple outfits and i had a fruit/nut basket mailed to his office this morning. i couldn't pass up embarrassing him since i know how much he hates to let peeps know it's his birthday...lol!
tomorrow we are having friends and family over for a bbq. hope we will all survive the hot weather...ugh!
happy birthday hon, love ya!
T-Mobile
it was my little brothers raymond's birthday on wednesday. he turned 29.
we had dinner at a japanese restaurant we hadn't been to in a very long time (now i know why) LOL. he got a free bottle of saki. i said, "saki to me" but he wouldn't open it! boo.
we continued the celebration at my house for cake and gifts. roxy even joined in on the fun!
i love birthdays and i'm glad everyone had a good time!
boy was this weekend hot or what? well here is los angeles it was probably about 90 degrees all weekend and i almost thought it was summer time! i was just getting used to the 70 degree weather and let me tell ya, i was in heaven!
on saturday afternoon we went to the pet expo and we should have skipped it because it was super crowed and way too hot to be walking around...plus fighting the crowds was a pain! i told hubby that the pets smelled better than a lot of the peeps walking around, bumping into you and not saying "excuse me".
we got to see some adorable doggies that i wanted to take home that were up for adoption. i probably shouldn't have checked that building out because i got all teary eyed looking at all those sad faces.
we got to see saw some awesome anacondas, birds and other animals...
we didn't spend too much time there like i said it was too hot and too crowded. later that evening we had dinner with my family to congratulate my brother raymond for passing a huge IT test for work on saturday. congrats bro!!!
poor hubby got sick later that evening, i mean really sick...vomiting, fevers and all. he is feeling better today, not sure if it was something he ate or the new antibiotics he is taking for his sinus infection.
sunday i met ana (mamirosa), her daughter sofia, her bff andrea, her bloggie buddies; vero (la vero), her sons and ana (ana banana) @ plaza mexico.
we had so much fun chit chatting and getting to know each other better. it really is a small world!
we had lunch, (thanks again to ana banana and vero for treating! you guys are too kind). *hugs*
dessert, well i shouldn't really call it that. mamirosa, ana, and i got a spicy and sour shaved iced called "el diablito" that i couldn't finish. too spicy but it certainly was good! now i know why it's called that...little devil!
sofia is such a pretty girl. oh my goodness i cannot get over how adorable she is!
we had such a good time playing with her and holding her was a breeze because she is so lite. but you can't hold her too long because then she starts looking for mommy...
i am so glad we finally got to meet.
thanks mamirosa for putting this together! this was my first "meet up" and i had the best time! i'm not sure why i was nervous? the girls were all very nice and i think we all made each other feel at ease, almost like we've all known each other for a long time! ;o))
cheers to making new friends and i hope we all stay in touch.
