i had a great time with my buddies on friday night.  the races were interesting

the bands were awesome, i enjoyed when in rome a lot more than flock of seagulls.  they were sord of a buzz kill because they were playing some really slow songs and peeps were starting to leave or walk away from boredom.  but once their good songs were played everyone got into it.

on saturday we went to see sex in the city, hubby didn't want to go with me and my brother frank but he raised the white flag and changed his mind.  we had dinner at a cuban restaurant where they have the best mojitos.

while i went to the ladies room frank and hubby stood in line. once i walked over to them i realized it was all women (duh!).  i look up and frank says "hey mayra we're the only guys!"  i could not stop LOL.  i wished i would have taken a pic but i was laughing too hard.  later we counted about 10 guys in the theater, some older men, some gay and the rest were fans i guess?  i'm glad hubby was a good sport. 

i enjoyed the movie because i'm a big fan.  i think this could have been another season instead of a big movie.  anyway, i liked the whole movie except the end.  wtf?!  why drag it out...grrr!

i don't know what in the heck happened to me on sunday morning but i woke up so sad and depressed.  it was soo weird.  i could not get out of the funk.  even after running a couple errands and having lunch i could just not snap out of it.  i wonder if watching bridezillas and platinum weddings added to it?  weirdness!  i dunno.

good morning neighbors!

i am still trying to recover from a great weekend.  i think i need to do a "cleansing" too because i went a little overboard celebrating t's bday, makes me feel better that i wasn't the only one.  LOL!

i overslept today...could not sleep last night, i was tossing and turning and several times i woke up sweating like a pig.  grrr!  then i couldn't remember where i put some concert tickets i had recently purchased, so finally i got up and thankfully found the tickets.  

hanging out at my bro's apartments on friday night was pretty cool.  at times i felt a little out of place, i guess hanging out with several 21 year olds is not my thing anymore.  *sigh*  don't get me wrong there were peeps my age but when the real young ones got there we fled. 

the laker game was pretty exciting and after the game pretty much everyone played rock band.  sam and john did such a great john singing, total pros!

the next day was terribly hot and very hot.  we continued the birthday celebration that evening.  and can i just say that people that say they are going to show up should really keep their word.  don't they take into consideration that you  put some work and money to including you?  come one, how old are we?  the least you could do is call!  this has happened way too many times and frankly i'm sick of it. 

hubby made the carne asada, chicken, mom made  beans and salsa, and i made a peanut cole slaw, and tomato/cucumber and feta salad.  note to self, don't set out too many munchies otherwise no one will eat real food.

we had some good laughs and played rock band again...we are such nerds but we had some good belly laughs.

sunday we spent pretty much all day lounging and catching up with my dvr.  my bff paulie called later on and wanted to have an early dinner at stinking rose in bevery hills so we did just that.  dinner was delicious but today i stink like GARLIC!

first of all i want to wish all you mom's a happy mother's day.  we are starting the celebration early...it's mexican mother's day tomorrow so we are taking mom out to dinner.  we're taking her to have seafood because it's one of her favorite foods. 

tonight hubby and i are going to dinner and hopefully drinks because i could really use a stiff one.  ;-)) bahahahah.  hopefully we will not be too tired to hang out and listen to some music.  the place we are going to has live jazz so that will be fun.

tomorrow besides dinner with mom we are taking flat stanley to hollywood.  i hope the pics come out good.  i'm trying to come up with something creative and fun for my nephew.  i don't want him to  be disappointed.

we had such a nice weekend.  it was so nice hanging out with my bros and mom on saturday.  we had breakfast @ mimi's then since my bros are batman freaks they were on the hunt for some figures.  they finally found them in pomona.  freaks!  LOL!

i found some nice shoes at the nordstrom rack and little bro found several pairs of luky jeans and a hoodie.  we stopped at virgin's to take a shortcut and we started messing around with the hats...eveyone said i looked good in this one...what do you think?  i would never buy it.  where am i gonna go with a hat like that?  what am i justin timberlake or a member of the blues brothers?

since we were going to bbq later at my house we stopped at costco, target, and finally the market for some groceries.  hubby grilled some chicken and carne asada.  i made cole slaw, dip, and mom made fried beans, delish.  my bros got the beer, chips and italian sausage to grill.

i was pooped from all the running around but that's my fault from trying to do too much...um, i'm an old fart i guess?!

james and paulie showed up around 6pm and we all hung out, ate like pigs and drank like lushes.  the de la hoya fight was boring but we had a great time chatting and making jokes.

mom came over too, i wanted her to get her drink on (lol) but she only had a sip of a michelada i could not finish and some tequila.  she's not a big drinker, lol.

everyone left around midnight.  i was soo tired so we cleaned up and off to bed.  good thing i drank plenty of water otherwise i would have been hurting the next day.

i cannot believe i was married 14 years ago!  honestly it doesn't feel like i've been married that long. 

hubby and i don't have major drama in our relationship, thank god.  we try not sweat the small stuff.  he says i'm always looking at things negatively, true and i'm working through that (and i think i get it from moms).  he's the opposite of me so i guess we balance each other.  we're not perfect...things come up here and there but nothing that we can't work through...knock on wood.

we didn't purchase gifts for each other since we decided to go to vegas.  hubby did leave me the cutest card next to my coffee mug with some really nice words which made me feel loved.  *sigh*  tonight we are going to our fave "splurge" restaurant to continue the celebration.  i cannot wait to share a shrimp cocktail, scallops for me and chocolate soufflé for 2.

hi there neighbors!  so sorry i haven't had a chance to update and check in on you guys.  i've been so busy at home and work.  i should be all caught up by tomorrow...

and btw, roxy had a great time too at petsmart pet hotel.  we dropped him off on friday morning and he was freaking out because i'm sure he thought he was at the vets.  it was his first time there and according to the tech. he had fun.  btw, he was the stud of the pack and was smitten with the female cockers...what a crack up! 

at their front office they have a monitor so you can see the doggies playing at "day camp".  when we arrived i started to look for him and  he was scoping out the new chick, lol.  he looked so cute and we missed him.  yes, i was worried about him over the weekend but i did manage to have fun!

hubby was still fighting his sinus infection and had a flare up from all the smoke and the climate change, it was super dry.  but he did manage to have fun at the pool as much as i did.

we had dinner at emerils on friday night and we were very disappointed in their service.  i think we've had enough of his place, next time we are going to try something else...we couldn't pass up the banana cream pie!

we hang out at the lounges a lot that have live bands, this time we were surprised to see a whole group of transvestites.  at first i thought there might have been a convention but i think it was just a group because we only saw them at paris. 

on saturday we spent most of the afternoon at the pool reading and relaxing and then we headed to bobby flay's mesa grill for drinks and appetizers before the beatles love show.

we had the best patron margaritas, quese fundido, quesadillas, and chicken tacos.  now this sounds like a lot but remember they are all small portions.  next time you're in vegas, you must check it out and make sure you get tickets ahead of time to watch the love show.  this was our second time seeing it except that our seats were front row and they were KILLER!!!  they were so worth it...so soo worth it!

we stayed at paris hotel and it was so so.  i did love their chandeliers but other than that i was not very impressed.

TGIF y'all!!!!

we don't have an exciting friday planned, except if you consider doing your taxes on a friday night @ 8pm exciting?! i am probably going to make dinner tonight and will work out, of course.

don't have plans for the rest of the weekend, TG.  but i am looking forward to doing whatever comes up!

wish us luck with our taxes...yikes!

sord of.  so i went to see my doctor on wed. morning, i even shaved my legs (lol) in case she wanted me to have a pap smear...eek!  the first thing she said it that i have an ear infection and the headaches are caused by all the sinus pressure.  i guess that means i have a sinus infection.  i got some antibiotics and nasonex nose spray.  i meant to go to work on wed. but my head hurt so much i wanted to vomit on the pharmacy intern.  oh and one more thing, she said "you are putting on too much weight".  ummm.........DUH!!!!

i have never ever had headaches this severe!  i couldn't sleep, i would toss and turn all night and sometimes even be awaken by the pain!  i even cried because i couldn't take the pain any longer...i know sissy!  i am happy to say i am feeling much better today, i finally went back to work.  i am still out of it, can't think or type but i'm back. 

thanks to all for you for the well wishes.  ;-)  

btw, hubby is sick...again!  he's had fevers for 2 days and now he's on antibiotics too!
