- recently my friend paulie took me to the coldplay concert in anaheim. we had a great time and the show was beyond amazing. i would see them again in a heartbeat. i loved the laser lights and it was all very visual and made the music come to life.
- we had thanksgivng at my parents home this year. i didn't feel up to hosting it so my auntie made a mexican turkey dish which was delish. we also had turkey breast and side dishes but i just ate the birria. my youngest brother and i bought some pies and we didn't have any trouble finishing it! i had the worst allergies soi ended up knocking out after rocking out to 3 songs on rock band. at one time i could hear my family singing living on a prayer by bon jovi. i woke up and laughed and then cringed because i cannot stand that band! LOLz. good times!
- we're just starting to decorate for the holidays and i have not started by xmas shopping yet. i bought one gift but i realized i've got a lot to get after all. sigh. i usually love the holidays but this year i don't. i guess i must be over it and have become my mother. noooooo!!!!!!!!! LOLz.
- sis and i went to our bro's apartment the other night and rocked out. we had a great time and have realized that i suck at guitar and i'm better off singing with my lame voice. =(
- tonight we're going to see an irish punk band...i can't wait! this weekend you will see me Xmas shopping. =S
Show us your Thanksgiving grocery list.
- pumpkin pie
- whip cream
- oh yeah and booze! LOLs
i guess we were not satisfied with 2 thanksgiving meals that we had to make our own tonight. we had 2 great meals but for some reason i got the urge to make my own just for us. i bought the groceries yesterday morning for sunday dinner and guess what? it's almost ready!
so far i've made orange and cranberry sauce with roasted walnuts, sausage stuffing, and the herb roasted turkey breast is in the oven. the red potatoes are boiling for some mashed potatoes and finally some garlic sauteed spinach. hubby got a pumpkin pie...can't wait!
happy holidays!
we had one of the best thanksgiving's ever and i am very thankful for that. on thursday morning my buddy andreas stopped by to drop off some bread. it was very nice to see him and we had a chance to catch up with some juicy gossip, lol.
we rested most of the morning and early afternoon then made it to rosie's house. we took a veggie tray and some red wine. we talked, grazed, and then had some turkey and all the trimmings
we left her house at almost 5pm, made a pit stop at our house before making our last stop to my aunt's house where we were to meet my mom and brothers. we not only celebrated thanksgiving we also celebrated my cousin laura's birthday. we grew up together and are the same age. we ate, ate, ate and indulged on some tequila shots and dessert.
we talked about old times, how much we've all changed and debated if to do the early bird shopping. hubby and i wanted to hit the local outlet mall at midnight and we did just that. he needed some work shoes and clarks was having a great sale. after we left my aunts we went by and the parking lot was pretty empty. when we returned at 11pm it was starting to get busy so we found parking quickly, got in and out and were back home at 12am. i know we're insane for doing that but hubby scored!
it is what it is no matter how much it hurts.
We went out for a pre-thanksgiving celebration with our friends last night. We decided to have dinner and margaritas at Conquistador in Siliverlake. E was surprised that I hadn't taken any pics yet but frankly I was enjoying myself too much plus the margaritas were super STRONG to say the least.
Millie's friends Stephanie and her hubby Johnny met us and they are a real pleasure. They're trying to get a party together for New Years so that might be an option for us because we've been trying to figure out what to do. We were all talking about going to a nice dinner and then dancing but our guys don't sound too excited about that. A house party would be fine for me, we'll see...
I had so much fun last night and laughed so hard that I almost peed my pants, seriously. I really needed it because this week was a little rough but that's over with and now time to continue the Thanksgiving celebration.
Oh, almost forgot. Several weeks ago I tortured Roxy again with another costume. The pics didn't come out but here's one...
Happy Thanksgiving my friends!
Show us what you're thankful for.
I have so many things to be thankful for, perhaps too many to list? Never.
This year has been a pretty tough one for me but thankfully I've made it through with the help of my family, friends, VOX friends, and most importantly hubby. He always puts things back in perspective.
I am thankful for my new friends, Millie and Efren. I am thankful that we've become great friends.
last night hubby and i bought the last of our xmas lights. we decided to replace our icicle lights with sparkling icicle lights instead. our theme is red and white, simple and not tacky (see last year's pic). i also want to replace my garland that i hang on my living room mirror. it's pretty old and looking a bit raggedy to say the least.
i talked to my girlfriend last night and she's invited us for thanksgiving dinner. we haven't seen each other for a while now so i can't wait to spend some quality time with her and her family. we might stop by my aunt's house later, not sure. i am not in the thanksgiving spirit this year. well, i am but i don't want to make the whole meal...bleh!
so the mall last light was all decorated for xmas...yes, already. even starbucks had their decorations up, their xmas blend coffee which i love and their peppermint mocha that i always look forward to. the holidays season just does not start off right until i have it!
tis' the season!
- i promised myself i would start working out since i've been doing the opposite for a while now. so far i've worked out twice and last night i hurt my foot somehow. i think it's getting better...
- i cooked over the weekend plus twice this week already..yay!
- i've been catching up with an old friend and i'm very happy about that.
- i think i'm close to getting my thanksgiving plans figured out.
- i want to get my drink on this weekend...
