i have been so tired this week and i'm sure it's due to lack of sleep.  i usually have to be in bed by 10pm no matter what but a couple days last week i went to sleep around 11pm because i was out gallivanting (as hubby calls it) playing "dr. phil".  so i must have at least 8 hours of sleep otherwise i'm a zombie the next day.  during the week i get up at 6am-ish and leave work at 4pm.  so thank gawd for naps because i needed them plus this humid heat has not been helping me...zzzz.

last week, as i mentioned before, we celebrated my brother frank's 33rd birthday.  we had a nice little crowd going and had a great time.  our friend cindy, bob, my bff paulie, sis, brudder raymond, hubby, mom and i joined in on the fun.  we had dinner at our local thai place (poor peeps that had to hear us LOL and talk soo LOUDLY).  we had some extra time before the flick so we headed to my house for some cake and drinks before heading back out to watch pineapple express.  ZOMG the movie is sooo darn funny, you must watch it!  check out the visuals...

good morning neighbors!

i am still trying to recover from a great weekend.  i think i need to do a "cleansing" too because i went a little overboard celebrating t's bday, makes me feel better that i wasn't the only one.  LOL!

i overslept today...could not sleep last night, i was tossing and turning and several times i woke up sweating like a pig.  grrr!  then i couldn't remember where i put some concert tickets i had recently purchased, so finally i got up and thankfully found the tickets.  

hanging out at my bro's apartments on friday night was pretty cool.  at times i felt a little out of place, i guess hanging out with several 21 year olds is not my thing anymore.  *sigh*  don't get me wrong there were peeps my age but when the real young ones got there we fled. 

the laker game was pretty exciting and after the game pretty much everyone played rock band.  sam and john did such a great john singing, total pros! 

we munched out on pizza (thanks bro), snacks, and of course there was tons of alcohol (duh).  dan made lemon drop shots (his specialty) and made sure the young pups and some of the old farts catch a buzz.  =D
some of the guys also played darts...some of them got a little too into it.  competitive you think?

no crows this year, i'm sure he was happy about that...

tonight we are starting the celebration at my bro's apartment. this is actually the first time he has us over and he's been there a year already...times flies.   he's such a typical bachelor.  ;o)  i'm excited to get together with his friends and co-workers to watch the lakers game plus play some good ol' rock  band.  i don't know if i will work up the courage to sign but maybe after a couple vodka tonics with extra limes i will be good to go!

i got hubby a couple outfits and i had a fruit/nut basket mailed to his office this morning.  i couldn't pass up embarrassing him since i know how much he hates to let peeps know it's his birthday...lol!

tomorrow we are having friends and family over for a bbq.  hope we will all survive the hot weather...ugh!

so my little cousin liz who we consider our little sister (we grew up together) got married last month and just moved up north last night.  i knew she was going to leave soon, i just didn't expect her to leave last night without prior notice.  plus i didn't get to say goodbye!  i asked her to call me but i'm sure she didn't because the "water works" would have started to flow.  i had talked to her for a minute yesterday and i started to cry so we hung up and told ourselves we would not say goodbye.

we celebrated her birthday this past saturday and we had a blast.  it sure is going to be weird now without her.  i am sure going to miss hanging out with her and seeing her when we visit my aunt... 

i am happy for her and i'm glad that she has found true love.  i am happy to see her start her new life.  i am happy for her and her hubby.

i told her to call me for cooking tips (not that i'm a pro).  she doesn't know how to cook so we gave her a cookbook i found at costco with tons of easy recipes and tips.  i remember when i got married i was the same way.  it took me forever to learn how to cook. 

i know she will be fine.  she's about 5 hours away but there's always phones and thank god for the internet!

i love you liz and i am going to miss you!

wow, let me just catch my breath because this past weekend was fun but very busy and hectic. my friend millie had a grand opening for her nail salon on saturday so we were with her and her boyfriend friday night and saturday.  she had a great turn out and got some great gifts and tips.  the food was awesome too!

later that afternoon after t and i got our second wind and met up with them again, this time her brother david joined us.  we went to see kc and the sunshine band at the alhambra jubilee.  we met up for drinks first then around 8pm we saved our spot right in front of the stage.  omg, it was so darn HOT that night too...UGH!!!

i can certainly say that kc has seen his better days and he probably should retire NOW if not sooner.

he had some great dancers, i guess to distract you from HIM.  oh well, we enjoyed the concert and left right before it was over to avoid the crowds.  the night was still young so we went to our last  stop, the venice room, a hole in the wall bar with kareoke, over 60 only...lol!
when i walked out i recognized two guys that were talking outside.  now, normally when i see people i have not talked to from my past, high school, etc i usually pretend they are not there walk past them...don't ask me why, i know how rude!  but this time since i was a bit tipsy and felt brave i made eye contact automatically and they recognized me as well.  i wished i would have taken pics of mike and tom.  i was shocked and happy to have run into them and had a chance to catch up a bit.  i guess i know where to find them now...the local watering hole.  oh yeah, more water please!

yes, even if they're mine.  i just say i'm turning 29.  well, that's been for 5 years already! ;)
anyway, t and i had a very nice, romantic and quiet dinner last night.  we found a great place which is now our fave but only for special occasions!  i had scallops again and t had white fish.  we had a great wine too; rodney strong's merlot...wow!!!  (note to self, must buy some @ trader joe's)  it was so good that we had 2 glasses and i guess i don't have to tell you that we were very relaxed afterwards.  to finish off the evening we had a chocolate souffle and omg it was thee best i've ever had.  ahh....i heart birthdays....

Mom and I hung out practically all day Sunday.  We went to church, gossiped on the way in, can you believe that?  She just could not wait to tell me some family gossip. Anyway, after mass we had Mexican breakfast, yummy.  It was so good that I got sleepy while we waited for my car to get  washed...zzz.  We went to Target to pick up some items I had forgotten about and after I got the energy to drive home I drove to mom's house and rested.  It was so damn hot...ugh that just makes me bitchy!  Anyway, we ended up tagging along with my bros and went to the Outlet for some shopping and goofing around.  Mom and I found some jackets on sale, yay!  Ohh, that reminds me of one of my rules.  Every time I purchase clothing I go into my closet and pull an item that I am no longer wearing anymore.  I either give it to Goodwill or donate it at church.  Well, at least that makes me feel better...  So by this time I was so exhausted that I had to go home and nap.  Later that evening we all went to dinner for some Thai food and got some more bonding in with my bros, mom and hubby.

 Life is good!

T could not wait to show me the new mechanic's chair he bought with a gift certificate he had from who knows when..he is so cute.  He almost looked as excited as when I get a new Coach...lol!  He has so many gadgets in the garage...I wonder when he will ever use them?  =)
